Project · Kitchen Cabinets & Countertops
This white shaker kitchen gets its character from a backlit onyx-look backsplash that glows amber behind the countertops. White kitchen cabinets with brushed gold handles keep the rest of the room simple, and a tall cabinet wall holds the wall ovens. The cabinets and countertops came from the Kitchen Factory Newark showroom, and the layout was planned with our in-house design team.

The Design
White shaker cabinets wrap the room under a vaulted ceiling, with uppers that step around the corner above the range. A run of tall cabinets on one side holds double wall ovens, which frees the main counter for prep space. The backlit backsplash runs behind the range and sink, so the light falls exactly where people work.
The Details
Long brushed gold handles on the tall doors and shorter pulls on the drawers pick up the amber tones of the backsplash. Light countertops with soft veining keep the glowing backsplash as the focal point. A dark hardwood floor and dark stainless appliances balance the white cabinets, and small glass pendants add warm light over the corner.
Planning a White Kitchen with a Statement Backsplash
Pick one statement
When the backsplash is the feature, simple white shaker doors and light countertops let it stand out without the room looking busy.
Match the hardware to the accent color
Gold handles repeat the warm tones of the backsplash, which makes the kitchen look planned. Compare hardware finishes side by side at the showroom.
Move the ovens into a tall cabinet
Wall ovens in a tall cabinet run free up counter space and put the oven at a comfortable height. Bring the oven specs so the cabinet can be sized for them.
